Pattyson Third at GNAC Meet

BOSTON, Mass. -- Saint Joseph College sophomore Julie Pattyson (Seymour, Conn.) finished third in a field of 126 runners Saturday at the GNAC championship Meet at Franklin Park.

Pattyson covered the 5k course in 20 minutes, 53 seconds. She was the highest Saint Joseph College finisher at the conference meet since Ellen Barnicle won the event in 2005. By virtue of her finish, Pattyson, along with the entire top 10, earned All-GNAC honors for the 2011 season.

Amber Dostie, of Saint Joseph's of Maine, won the event in 19:45 and Laura Furfaro, of Johnson & Wales, was second at 20:24.

The Blue Jays were ninth of 13 in the team competition. Mary Roto (Eastford, Conn.) was the second Blue Jay to finish and was 74th overall. Ashley Kulas (Windsor Locks, Conn.), Kristin Burke (Randolph, Mass.) and Sara Lore (Norwood, Mass.) rounded out the scoring places for Saint Joseph.

The meet concluded the 2011 season.
