WINTHROP, Mass. – The Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Pre-Championship Coaches' Poll is out, and the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) women's swimming and diving team was picked sixth heading into this weekend's championship meet, as announced Thursday by conference officials.

The Blue Jays, who were picked fourth in the poll last year, received 43 points in this year's championship poll, behind Husson (47), Norwich (50), Colby-Sawyer (53), Regis (71), and the unanimous favorite, Simmons (81), who has won the last 15 GNAC Women's Swimming & Diving Championships. USJ impressed in last year's GNAC Championships, finishing third overall behind only Simmons and Regis.
USJ finished 3-3 in dual meets this season, and competed in several big-time events, including the Roger Williams Invitational, the Louise Goodrum Invitational, and the Connecticut Cup. They most notably defeated Eastern Connecticut State in a dual meet for the first time since 1997.
Spearheaded by Simmons Director of Athletics Communications and championship meet manager Alan Wickström, the 2020 Championships will be streamed at thegnac.tv. Saint Joseph returns to the pool for the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championships on Friday, January 31 at 6:00 p.m. The three-day meet will be held at the Boston Sports Institute (BSI) Wellesley Sports Center in Wellesley, Mass.
