2020: N/A
2019: Third career assist came in a 5-0 rout of Colby-Sawyer on September 28. Took a career-high 10 shots in a career-best 16 games. Started 16 of a possible 19 matches. Known best for his role as the defensive captain, anchoring the Blue Jay defense all season long. The Blue Jays improved all around in year two, sporting a 12-6-1 overall record, earning the five seed in the GNAC Tournament. After the heroic efforts of teammate Michael Torres in the quarterfinals, USJ took on top-seeded Johnson & Wales in the GNAC Semis. A fantastic sophomore season concluded with a tough loss, 3-1.
2018: Scored his first and only career goal in a 4-2 win over Rivier on October 6. Skrelja finished with a goal and two assists in 13 games. USJ finished 8-5-2 in its first-ever season, earning the six seed in the GNAC Tournament, but lost a tight one to Norwich, 2-1 in the quarterfinals.
Before USJ: Originally from Montenegro, Skrelja attended Watertown High School in Watertown, Conn. He graduated in 2018, but not before playing four seasons of soccer. Skrelja was an All-Naugatuck Valley League (NVL) selection and three-time all-star. He captained the Indians to a NVL Championship runner-up his senior season, and also made the senior bowl. Skrelja made the second round of the CIAC Boys Soccer State Tournament all four years, but was upset in his sophomore, junior and senior seasons. Skrelja finished with an impressive 46-12-6 overall high school soccer record. In the classroom, Skrelja was a member of the National Honor Society, DECA and Link Crew.
