Harris Earns Spot on Women’s Volleyball All-GNAC Third Team
WINTHROP, Mass. – Junior outside hitter Shaye Harris (Windsor Locks, Conn.) of the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) women's volleyball team was named to the All-Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Third Team it was announced by the league's front office during its unveiling of the year-end awards. In addition, junior middle blocker Sofia Weiss (Babylon, N.Y.) was named to the All-Sportsmanship Team. The end of year awards are voted on by the league's 14 head coaches.
Harris enjoyed a stellar junior campaign, leading the Blue Jays attack with 260 kills (2.77 per set). The outside hitter's tallies saw her rank 10th in the GNAC in total kills and ninth in kills per set. Harris also posted solid defensive numbers, racking up 215 digs, the 27th most in the conference. The accolade is the first All-Conference recognition in her career.
