Women's Tennis Unveils 2025 Schedule

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. - The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) women's tennis team and tenth-year head coach head coach Karen Piazza have announced the schedule for the upcoming 2025 season. Highlighting the 15-match regular season slate are seven home matches, which are set to be played at the Elizabeth Ferry Speer Tennis Complex on the campus of USJ.

FULL 2025 WOMEN'S TENNIS SCHEDULE

The Blue Jays open the 2025 campaign with a pair of road matches, beginning with the season opener against Bridgewater State of the Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) on Saturday, August 30 in Bridgewater, Mass. The team remains in Massachusetts on Thursday, September 4, traveling to Brighton to face former conference opponent Simmons University.

USJ makes its home debut at the Elizabeth Ferry Speer Tennis Complex on Tuesday, September 9, welcoming Farmingdale State of the Skyline Conference. The team rounds out a quick two-match homestand on Thursday, September 11, hosting intrastate foe WestConn of the Little East Conference (LEC).

The Blue Jays hit the road again on Saturday, September 13, heading to Newport, R.I., to take on Salve Regina of the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) in their final non-conference contest of the season.

USJ returns to West Hartford to begin Conference of New England (CNE) play for the first time since becoming an affiliate member, opening league action against crosstown opponent University of Hartford on Tuesday, September 16. The Blue Jays then embark on a two-match road swing, traveling to Biddeford, Maine to face the University of New England on Saturday, September 20, followed by a visit to Roger Williams University on Wednesday, September 24 in Bristol, R.I.

The Blue Jays return back to WeHa for a pair of matches to close out the month of September, beginning with a match against Colby-Sawyer College on Saturday, September 27. The team rounds out the month with a match against the reigning CNE champions Nichols College on Tuesday, September 30.

As the calendar flips to October, USJ travels to Wenham, Mass., on Saturday, October 4 for a meeting against Gordon College. The team then returns to WeHa for its penultimate home contest of the 2025 regular season, welcoming Suffolk University on Tuesday, October 14. USJ then heads back on the road, first traveling to Milton, Mass., to face Curry College on Saturday, October 18, before playing its final regular season road contest on Monday, October 20 against Western New England University in Springfield, Mass. USJ rounds out the 2025 regular season slate at home, hosting Endicott College on Saturday, October 25.

The top six teams qualify for the CNE playoffs, which are set to begin with the First Round on Tuesday, October 28 at the site of the third and fourth seeds. The winners advance to the CNE Semifinals, which will take place on Thursday, October 30 at the site of the top two seeds. The 2025 CNE Championship is slated to take place on Saturday, November 1 at the site of the highest remaining seed.

USJ is coming off a historic 2024 campaign that saw them reach the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championship for the second time in program history, and the first since 1999. The Blue Jays ultimately fell in the title match to Colby-Sawyer College.
