Women's Tennis Topples Albertus Magnus Thursday, 7-2

NEW HAVEN, Conn. - The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) women's tennis team toppled intrastate and conference rival Albertus Magnus College (AMC), 7-2, in a Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) match on a beautiful Thursday afternoon at Celentano Courts in New Haven. The Blue Jays won two of three doubles matches and then five of six singles matches to account for the victory over the Falcons.

"We came out very strong in our doubles matches today and then used that to continue to stay focused throughout singles play. That was a key GNAC win for us and we are very happy with the result," said head coach Karen Piazza.

Women's tennis returns back to the courts on Saturday, September 17 for a GNAC match at home versus perennial conference power Colby-Sawyer College. Opening serve between the Blue Jays and Chargers is slated for 12:00 p.m. at the Elizabeth Ferry Speer Tennis Complex in West Hartford, Conn.
