Tennis Team Drops Match to Suffolk

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. -- The Saint Joseph College tennis team came up on the short end of an 8-1 score against Suffolk Saturday on Tailgate Day in a GNAC match at Saint Joseph College.

Emely Chenard (Meriden, Conn.) scored the lone point for the Blue Jays, winning a third-set tiebreaker. Chenard defeated Lizzy Arkins, 6-3, 2-6, 7-6 (10-8). 

Chenard earned the first victory for the Blue Jays after they were shutout by Johnson & Wales and Simmons in their past two outings.

Saint Joseph is 1-6 overall and 0-4 in the GNAC. Suffolk is 2-2 overall and 2-1 in the league.

Saint Joseph is at MCLA Monday, Sept. 26 at 3:30 p.m. and next plays home against WNEC, Thur. Sept. 29 at 3:30 p.m.
