Women's Swimming & Diving Finishes Fourth at GNAC Championships
WELLESLEY, Mass. – The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) women's swimming and diving team concluded its outstanding 2023 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) championships on Sunday, finishing with 457 points to come in fourth place. The team finish is the best for the Blue Jays since the 2018-19 GNAC Championships. USJ tallied two medals on the day, hauling in five medals across the weekend.

TOP PERFORMANCES
- 50 Yard Breaststroke –Amy Mamica (Rocky Hill, Conn.) paced USJ in the event, finishing in fourth after posting a time of 34.81 seconds. Angelina Bernardi (Middlebury, Conn.), also brought home points for USJ in the event, finishing in seventh after touching the wall in a time of 39.93 seconds.
- 1650 Yard Free – Junior Adelina Marcille (Waterford, Conn.) just missed out on the podium, coming in fourth place after posting a time of 21:09.50. Sophomore Emily Beyer (Prospect, Conn.) also qualified for the finals, finishing in eighth place in a time of 22:18.84.
- 200 Yard Butterfly – Senior Morgan Beebe (Ellington, Conn.) took the silver medal, recording a time of 2:37.43.
- 200 Yard IM – Freshmen Julianna Violette (Rocky Hill, Conn.) brought home another medal for the Blue Jays, finishing in third with a time of 2:30.54.
- 400 Yard Medley Relay – The team of Violette, Bernardi, Beebe and Mamica finished in fifth place after combining for a time of 4:49.09.
