Bergeron Named NEISDA Diver of the Week
WESTON, Mass. - Freshman diver Brielle Bergeron (Easthampton, Mass.) of the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) women's swimming and diving team was named the New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Association (NEISDA) Women's Diver of the Week, it was announced by the association on Wednesday afternoon.
In Bergeron's first collegiate competition, she won the 1-meter diving competition with a score of 177.60 and earned nine points to help the Blue Jays to a 116-60 victory over Rhode Island College in their season opener. She also was a part of the Blue Jays' 200 freestyle relay team and has a promising future for the University of Saint Joseph.
Prior to her diving career at USJ, she went to Hampshire Regional High School in Westhampton, Mass. She is majoring in Nursing.
Bergeron and the Blue Jays return to the pool next on Friday, October 26th at home when they host the Blue Jay Pentathlon Invitational beginning at 5:00 p.m. inside Bruyette Natatorium.
