USJ opened the scoring midway through the first quarter when freshman attack Kailey Krusewski (Newington, Conn.) converted a free‑position opportunity at the 10:47 mark to give the Blue Jays a 1–0 lead. The Warriors continued to build momentum in the second quarter, scoring five times to stretch the lead to 8–2. Krusewski accounted for both USJ goals in the frame, including a finish with eight seconds remaining before halftime, but ECSU carried an 8–3 lead into the break.
Eastern Connecticut State opened the second half with a five‑goal third quarter to pull away, extending its lead to 13–5. USJ answered with goals from senior midfielder Alana Picard (Windsor Locks, Conn.) and junior attack Anna LeGault (Colchester, Conn.), but the Warriors maintained control heading into the final quarter.
The Blue Jays showed resilience late, as LeGault scored on a player‑up opportunity and Krusewski added her fourth goal of the afternoon. ECSU closed out the contest with four fourth‑quarter goals, including a pair in the final 30 seconds of regulation, to secure the 17–7 victory.
