Women's Lacrosse Concludes Season in GNAC Play-In Round at Regis Thursday

WESTON, Mass. – The South Division fifth-seeded University of Saint Joseph (USJ) women's lacrosse team saw its 2025 season come to an end Thursday evening in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Play-In game, falling 16-6 on the road to South Division fourth-seeded Regis College at Regis Stadium.

The Blue Jays (4-13) came out strong in the first quarter, matching the Pride goal-for-goal and taking an early 2-1 lead behind tallies from sophomore's Reagan Buscetto (Montville, Conn.) and Anna LeGault (Colchester, Conn.). Assists on both goals came from junior Alana Picard (Windsor Locks, Conn.), who finished the game with two goals and two assists.

After a tightly contested first quarter, Regis (9-8) took control in the second, erupting for six unanswered goals to take an 8-2 halftime lead. Despite a second-half push from USJ that included three goals in the third quarter and one more from LeGault in the fourth, the deficit proved too large to overcome.

LeGault led the Blue Jays with a team-high four points (3 goals, 1 assist), while Picard contributed a pair of goals and two assists to also finish with a four-point game. Buscetto added one goal and three caused turnovers. USJ's freshman goalkeeper Erika Horne (Danielson, Conn.) made 11 saves in net on 27 shots-on-goal faced.

Regis was paced by sophomore Audrey Mason (West Springfield, Mass.), who scored six goals, and sophomore Molly Higgins (Weymouth, Mass.), who added four. The Pride capitalized on special teams, converting on six player-up opportunities, while limiting Saint Joseph to just two player-up goals.

Despite dominating the draw controls 18-8, Saint Joseph was hurt by turnovers (20 total) and could not recover from the second-quarter surge by the host Pride.
