Zabel to Step Down as Women's Lacrosse Head Coach

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – University of Saint Joseph (USJ) Associate Vice President of Athletics and Recreation Amanda Devitt announced Thursday that women's lacrosse Head Coach Princess Zabel will depart from the university after accepting another head coaching opportunity at Bates College.

"Thank you to the USJ community and our amazing Athletic Director Amanda Devitt for welcoming my family and me with open arms. Our time as Blue Jays will always hold a special place in our hearts," said Zabel.

Zabel took over the Blue Jays' program prior to the 2024 season and led the team to a 12-5 record overall. The Blue Jays hosted their first playoff game in program history in 2024 after finishing as the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) South-Division second seed.

A search for a new head coach will begin immediately.
