OFFICIAL GNAC RELEASE

Stringer, who is the reigning GNAC Women's Lacrosse Goalkeeper and Rookie of the Year, picked up right where she left off her freshman campaign and was solid between the pipes during the first two games of her sophomore season this past week for the Blue Jays. Helping power USJ to a perfect 2-0 start and picking up two victories in the process, the Point Lookout, N.Y. native logged 109:22 in the cage over the set of games and allowed just 12 goals for a 6.58 goals-allowed average on the week. Additionally, she stopped 14 of the 26 shots she faced on goal to post an impressive 53.8 save percentage. Stringer opened the week - and the 2024 season - by making seven saves against five goals allowed in a complete-game effort during USJ's 11-5 victory over non-conference opponent Mount Holyoke in the Blue Jays' season and home opener on Tuesday night. She followed that up with seven more saves to seven goals allowed in 49:22 of work in a 16-8 triumph over GNAC opponent Rivier on the road in both teams' conference opener on Sunday.

LeGault got off to a tremendous start offensively for the Blue Jays in her first two collegiate contests en route to being tabbed the GNAC Rookie of the Week. The freshman midfielder from Colchester, Conn. racked up 14 points via six goals and eight assists during USJ's 2-0 start this past week. She also chipped in with six ground balls, two draw controls, and a pair of caused turnovers. LeGault opened the week by scoring a hat trick and dishing out three assists in the non-conference victory over Mount Holyoke. She followed that up with another hat trick and added five assists in the GNAC victory over Rivier.

UP NEXT

Stringer, LeGault and the Blue Jays will look to continue their red-hot start to the 2024 season when they return to action next on Wednesday, March 13 for a non-conference contest on the road at Wellesley College. Opening draw between the Blue Jays and Blue is set for 5:00 p.m. at Butler Stadium in Wellesley, Mass.
