Ouellette Named to NEWBA Team of the Week
WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – Graduate student forward Jordan Ouellette (Bristol, Conn.) of the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) women's basketball team was selected to the New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) Week Three First Team, it was announced by association officials on Tuesday in its third weekly awards release of the season. It marked the 10th career weekly NEWBA honor for Ouellette and the first for herself and the Blue Jays this season.
Ouellette led USJ to a 70-60 victory over intrastate rivals Western Connecticut State University in the teams lone game last week, recording a double-double of 30 points and 10 rebounds. She was efficient shooting the ball, tallying a 12-of-17 clip from the floor and a 6-of-7 mark from the free throw line. The double-double was the first for Ouellette this season, and the 25th in her career.
UP NEXT
The Blue Jays return to the court on Wednesday, December 7 at Salve Regina University. Tipoff against the Seahawks inside the Rodgers Recreation Center in Newport, R.I., is slated for 7:00 p.m.
About the NEWBA
The New England Women's Basketball Association (NEWBA) provides support for coaches from the New England Region. Membership in NEWBA is open to all Division III head coaches from the region who have a vested interest in the welfare of the organization.
