Forman Named GNAC Rookie Of The Week
WINTHROP, Mass. - For the first time this season, freshman forward Meredith Forman (Bristol, Conn.) of the University of Saint Joseph women's basketball team was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Week, announced Monday afternoon by the conference front office. It marks the first time this season that Forman and the Blue Jays have garnered a GNAC weekly honor in 2019-2020.
Forman headlined a 1-1 week for the women's basketball team with her first career double-double (and perhaps the first of many), scoring 14 points and hauling down 13 rebounds in a 60-42 victory over Anna Maria on February 18. She was consistent throughout the contest, scoring in every quarter as the Blue Jays captured their 11th win of the season. Forman averaged 7.5 points and 8.5 rebounds per game in the 1-1 week for USJ. The Blue Jays won eight of their 11 games this season when Forman scored at least six points. She averaged nearly six points and four rebounds per game in her rookie season (top-five on the team in both categories).
