Bio

Russell Blatt is in his first season as Head Coach for Men's Cross Country at USJ in 2022. It marks the second year Blatt is with the Blue Jays after serving as Volunteer Assistant Coach for Men's Cross Country in 2021.

Blatt has been a fixture in Connecticut running circles for 40 years, and is thrilled to be working with the USJ cross country teams. His running resume includes a top-50 finish in the Boston Marathon in 1986, a top-100 run in the New York Marathon (1984), and a championship in the National Masters 5K in 2018 (Age 60+ group). He also scored top-10's in National 8K Cross Country and 10K road races, and won his age group in the Boston Athletic Association Distance Medley (5K, 10K and 1/2 marathon), all in 2019. His proudest achievment however, may just be holding the fastest Manchester Road Race Age 60+ time in the event's near 100-year history.

Blatt has worked in the insurance field since graduating from Temple in 1979. He resides in West Hartford with his wife, Betsy. Their children include daughter Rachel, an urban planner living in Somerville, Mass., and son Sam, a West Hartford attorney.
