Laframboise Shatters Program Record, Wins Founding Tree Invitational
AMHERST, Mass. – Junior Braeden Laframboise (Southington, Conn.) shattered the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) men's cross-country program's 8K record, winning the Founding Tree Invitational at Hampshire College in Amherst, Mass., Saturday. Laframboise also set a new personal best 8K time to pace the field of four USJ runners.
HOW IT HAPPENED

Laframboise paced the Blue Jays, crossing the finish line with an 8K time of 27:21.96 to finish first, finishing nearly six seconds ahead of the second-place finisher.

Senior Alfred Valero (Thomaston, Conn.) was the second USJ finisher, recording a time of 34:12.37 to finish in 54th.

Senior Luke Alvarez (West Hartford, Conn.) crossed the line next for the Blue Jays, crossing the line with a time of 38:36.77 to finish in 80th.

Sophomore Jayden Medina (Plantsville, Conn.) rounded out the USJ lineup, finishing with a time of 43:26.45 to finish in 93rd.

Western New England took home the team title, tallying 37 points.
UP NEXT
The men's cross country returns to action next Saturday, October 7 for the James Early Invitational. Hosted by Westfield State University at Stanley Park in Westfield, Mass., the men's 8K is set to begin at 10:30 a.m.
