Men's Cross Country Finishes Fifth at GNAC Championships
STANDISH, Maine – Sophomore Patrick O'Connor (Cheshire, Conn.) posted a top-20 performance to lead the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) men's cross country team to a fifth-place finish during the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championships at the SJC Cross Country Trail in Standish, Maine on Saturday. Overall, the Blue Jays significantly improved upon on their 8K times on a course they previously ran on earlier in the season. Chamroeun Chhorn (Danbury, Conn.) was also named to the GNAC All-Sportsmanship team.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- O'Connor paced the Blue Jays crossing the line in a time of 32:05.4, a 6:27.3 mile pace, to finish in 20th.
- Braeden Laframboise (Southington, Conn.) followed closely behind, recording a time of 32:37.0, a 6:33.7 mile pace, to finish in 26th.
- Jared Rheault (Terryville, Conn.) was the third USJ finisher, recording a time of 34:32.0, good enough for a 6:58.6 mile pace, finishing in 33rd.
- Alfred Valero (Thomaston, Conn.) was next to cross the line for USJ, finishing in 45th after posting a time of 36:24.9
- Nick Mango (Wolcott, Conn.) rounded out the points finishers for the Blue Jays, crossing the line in a time of 39:15.6 to finish in 59th.
- Norwich took home the team title, tallying 37 points.
