Men's Swimming & Diving Finishes Second at GNAC Championships
WORCESTER, Mass. – Freshman Kyle Januszewski (North Haven, Conn.) of the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) men's swimming and diving team set a new freshman record in the 200-yard Butterfly event as the Blue Jays concluded the 2026 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championships inside the WPI Sports & Recreation Center in Worcester, Mass. Sunday night, finishing in second place after tallying 207.5 points across the three-day meet.
TOP PERFORMANCES
- 50 Yard Breaststroke - Sophomore Nate Brasky (Madison, Conn.) recorded a second place finish after touching the wall in 28.36 seconds.
- 100 Yard Backstroke - Sophomore Chris Capen (Willbraham, Mass.) topped the timing sheet for USJ, finishing in second place with a time of 56.64 seconds.
- 200 Yard Butterfly - Januszewski broke the school freshman record for the event, earning fourth place after posting a time of 2:10.77.
- 200 Yard IM - Sophomore Aiden Hebb (Waterbury, Conn.) finished in second place, touching the wall in 2:03.36.
- 400 Yard Medley Relay - The team of Capen, Hebb, Januszewski, and Brasky finished in second place, combining for a time of 3:42.94.
- 1,650 Yard Freestyle - Sophomore Viktor Orzolek (Newington, Conn.) paced the Blue Jays in the event, recording a sixth place finish with a time of 19:45.49.
- 3 Meter Diving - Freshman Henry Pennell (Bellows Falls, Vt.) continued his stellar performance on the diving board, winning the event after posting a total score of 154.35 points.
