Men's Swimming & Diving Drops Dual Meet to Gordon on Saturday

WENHAM, Mass. - The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) men's swimming and diving team dropped its regular-season finale to Gordon College, 145-77, on Saturday afternoon inside the Bennett Center Natatorium in Wenham, Mass.


TOP PERFORMANCES

  • 400 Yard Medley Relay - The team of freshman Kyle Januszewski (North Haven, Conn.), and sophomores Chris Capen (Wilbraham, Mass.), Aiden Hebb (Waterbury, Conn.), and Nate Brasky (Madison, Conn.) finished in second place, combining for a time of 3:53.18.
  •  1,000 Yard Freestyle - Sophomore Viktor Orzolek (Newington, Conn.) won the event for the Blue Jays, posting a time of 11:53.50.
  • 200 Yard Freestyle - Hebb continued to rack up individual wins, finishing in first place with a time of 1:52.43.
  • 50 Yard Backstroke - Januszewski recorded a second place finish, tallying a time of 28.24 seconds.
  • 50 Yard Breaststroke - Brasky finished in fourth, touching the wall in 29.84 seconds.
  • 100 Yard Butterfly - Freshman Josh Desyr (Stamford, Conn.) finished in second, posting a final time of 1:13.25.
  • 50 Yard Freestyle - Brasky placed third with a time of 24.59 seconds.
  • 100 Yard Freestyle - Januszewski finished in second after recording a time of 53.72 seconds.
  • 100 Yard Backstroke - Capen recorded a second place finish, tallying a time of 58.99 seconds.
  • 200 Yard Breaststroke - Hebb won his second individual event of the day, finishing in first with a time of 2:16.88.
  • 500 Yard Freestyle - Orzolek paced the Blue Jays, finishing in second with a time of 5:47.40.
  • 50 Yard Butterfly - Januszewski finished in second place, posting a time of 26.05 seconds.
  • 200 Yard IM - Hebb came in second after recording a time of 2:05.28.
  • 200 Yard Freestyle Relay - The team of Orzolek, Desyr, Capen, and Brasky finished in second, combining for a time of 1:42.85.

The Blue Jays now gear up for the GNAC Championships, which are set to begin on Friday, February 6, inside the WPI Sports & Recreation Center in Worcester, Mass.
