Men's Swimming & Diving Competes Against Bridgeport and Roger Williams Saturday Afternoon

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. - The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) men's swimming and diving team returned to the pool Saturday afternoon, dropping a double-dual meet against the University of Bridgeport and Roger Williams University inside the Baum Family Aquatic Center in Bridgeport, Conn. The Blue Jays fell to the Purple Knights, 226-43, and the Hawks, 204-56.

TOP PERFORMANCES

  • 400 M Medley Relay – The team of freshman Kyle Januszewski (North Haven, Conn.) and sophomores Aiden Hebb (Waterbury, Conn.), Chris Capen (Wilbraham, Mass.), and Nate Brasky (Madison, Conn.) finished in eighth place after combining for a time of 4:25.05.
  • 800 M Free –  Sophomore Viktor Orzolek (Newington, Conn.) paced the team in the event, placing sixth with a time of 11:24.16.
  • 200 M Free – Hebb guided the Blue Jays, finishing fifth in a time of 2:05.45.
  • 100 M Back - Capen led the team with a seventh place finish in a time of 1:07.60.
  • 100 M Breast – Freshman Josh Desyr (Stamford, Conn.) was the lone Blue Jay in the event, finishing ninth with a time of 1:47.89.
  • 200 M Butterfly - Freshman Joe Andino (Wethersfield, Conn.) would finish in eighth place after posting a time of 3:06.74.
  • 1 M Diving - Freshman Henry Pennell (Bellows Falls, Vt.) turned in a stellar performance on the board, finishing second with a total score of 152.30.
  • 50 M Free - Freshman Chris Morris (Weatogue, Conn.) finished in eleventh place, posting a time of 28.72 seconds.
  • 100 M Free - Brasky placed ninth, finishing with a time of 1:00.94.
  • 200 M Back - Capen paced USJ with a seventh place finish, touching the wall in a time of 2:29.66.
  • 200 M Breast – Hebb recorded a fifth place finish with a time of 2:36.61.
  • 400 M Free - Andino finished in tenth, tallying a time of 5:23.47.
  • 100 M Butterfly - Desyr won the event for the Blue Jays, finishing with an impressive time of 39.53 seconds.
  • 400 M IM – Januszewski placed eighth, recording a time of 5:38.08.
  • 400 M Free Relay - The team of Brasky, Januszewski, Capen, and Hebb finished in eighth after combining for a time of 4:06.72.

UP NEXT

The Blue Jays return to the pool on Friday, Nov. 14, traveling to Jack Suydam Natatorium in New Britain, Conn., to compete in the CCSU Friday Night Sprints. The meet is scheduled to begin at 5 p.m.
