Men's Swimming & Diving Defeats Albertus Magnus and Plymouth State Friday

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. - The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) men's swimming and diving team swept a home double dual meet, defeating Plymouth State University and Great Northeast Athletic Conference foe Albertus Magnus College Friday evening inside Bruyette Natatorium in West Hartford, Conn. The Blue Jays bested the Falcons by a score of 169-11 and the Panthers, 161-48.

TOP PERFORMANCES

  • 200 Yard Medley Relay – The team of sophomores Aiden Hebb (Waterbury, Conn.), Nate Brasky (Madison, Conn.), Chris Capen (Wilbraham, Mass.), and freshman Kyle Januszewski (North Haven, Conn.) finished with a combined time of 1:47.96.
  • 1000 Yard Free – Sophomore Viktor Orzolek (Newington, Conn.) won the event for the Blue Jays, finishing with a time of 12:27.11.
  • 200 Yard Free – Hebb won the event for USJ, posting a time of 1:52.00. Capen would finish in second with a time of 1:59.17.
  • 50 Yard Back - Capen placed first for USJ, touching the wall in 29.38 seconds.
  • 50 Yard Breaststroke - Brasky won the event, continuing a dominant stretch for the Blue Jays after posting a time of 29.85 seconds.
  • 100 Yard Butterfly - Januszewski won the event, finishing with a time of 57.59 seconds.
  • 50 Yard Free – Freshman Joe Andino (Wethersfield, Conn.), contributed a first place finish as well, winning the event with a time of 24.33. 
  • 100 Yard Free – Brasky won his second event of the day, finishing in 53.19 seconds
  • 100 Yard Back - Capen took home his second first place finish of the day, winning the event with a time 1:01.04. 
  • 100 Yard Breaststroke - USJ would continue to dominate as Hebb won the event, posting a time of 1:03.01.
  • 50 Yard Butterfly - Januszewski paced the Blue Jays, finishing second with a time of 26.31 seconds.
  • 100 Yard IM - Hebb won his third event of the day, finishing with a time of 58.01 seconds
  • 500 Yard Free – Brasky took home another 1st place finish, posting a time of 5:53.37. 
  • 200 Yard Free Relay - The team of Andino, freshman Josh Desyr (Stamford, Conn.), Orzolek, and freshman Chris Morris (Weatogue, Conn.) put the finish touches on the dominant day in the pool, finishing in first place with a combined time of 1:42.15.

UP NEXT

The Blue Jays head on the road, traveling to Bridgeport University in Bridgeport, Conn. for a meet on Saturday, November 8. Held inside the UB Aquatics Center, the meet is slated to begin at 12:00 p.m.
