Men's Swim & Dive Tabs Four To NEISDA All-Academic Team
READING, Mass. — Four members of the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) men's swimming & diving team were named to the New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Association (NEISDA) Fall 2021 All-Academic Team, announced by the association this past Friday afternoon. 128 student-athletes (96 women, 32 men) from 11 women's teams and eight men's teams across the region were recognized on this year's NEISDA Fall All-Academic Team.
In order for a swimmer or diver to make the NEISDA All-Academic Team, student-athletes needed to post a fall semester GPA of 3.50 or higher.
Four of the 12 members of the men's swimming and diving program accomplished the feat. One senior and three juniors earned the honor for the Blue Jays: junior Aaron Gauvin (Berlin, Conn.), junior David Kavanaugh (West Hartford, Conn.), junior Tim Magill (Staten Island, N.Y.), and senior Jacob Wyse (Broad Brook, Conn.).
Founded in 1920, NEISDA is a coach-run association made up member institutions in New England. NEISDA annually sponsors and administers a championship for those qualifying swimmers and divers in February for New England teams in Division I, II, III, and collegiate club teams.
