Lynch Tabbed NEISDA Men's Swimmer Of The Week
WESTON, Mass. – Senior captain Brendan Lynch (Watertown, Conn.) of the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) men's swimming and diving team was selected as the New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Association (NEISDA) Men's Swimmer of the Week for week one of the 2021-2022 season, announced Wednesday afternoon by the association.
Lynch was a big-time winner for the Blue Jays in Saturday's double-dual meet sweep of Regis College and the University of New England, claiming three individual wins in all, including the 100 IM, 50 Backstroke, and 100 Free, all of them by less than a second. Lynch came up clutch at just the right time to close out each swim for the Blue Jays. USJ is 2-0 to start the season and looks to make more noise in the water at the Roger Williams Invitational this weekend on Saturday, October 16.
Lynch is one of three team captains this season for men's swimming & diving. He is a business management major and four-year member of the team. As such, he is one of the original members of the team during its first season of competition in 2018-19.
Founded in 1920, the New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Association is a coach-run association made up of member institutions in New England. NEISDA annually sponsors and administers a championship for those qualifying swimmers and divers in February.
