Men's Soccer Announces 2025 Schedule

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. - The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) men's soccer team and eighth-year head coach Paul Wright have announced the schedule for the upcoming 2025 season. Highlighting the 16-game regular-season slate are seven home matches, which are set to be played on the USJ Soccer Field on the campus of USJ.

FULL 2025 MEN'S SOCCER SCHEDULE

The Blue Jays officially kick off the 2025 season on Friday, August 29, hosting SUNY Poly of the Empire 8 at 6:00 p.m. on the USJ Soccer Field. USJ then hits the road for a pair of non-conference matches, starting with a contest against Wheaton College of the New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) on Saturday, September 6 at 2:00 p.m. in Norton, Mass. The Blue Jays then stay in-state for a local matchup against Trinity College of the New England Small College Athletic Conference (NESCAC) on Tuesday, September 9 at 7:00 p.m. in Hartford.

USJ then begins its defense of its Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) championship, opening up conference play in WeHa against Saint Joseph's College of Maine on Saturday, September 13 at 3:00 p.m. The Blue Jays then embark on its longest road swing of the year, starting with a stop in Springfield, Mass., to meet Springfield College of the NEWMAC on the pitch on Tuesday, September 16 for the teams final non-conference game. GNAC play resumes with back-to-back road matches, first at Norwich University on Friday, September 19 at 7:00 p.m. in Northfield, Vt., followed by a matchup with intrastate opponent Mitchell College on Tuesday, September 23 in New London, Conn. USJ rounds out the month of September back at home, hosting Emmanuel College on Saturday, September 27 at 12:00 p.m.

As the calendar flips to October, the Blue Jays head back on the road, traveling to Newton, Mass., to face Lasell University on Wednesday, October 1 at 3:00 p.m. THe men's soccer team then returns home for its longest homestand of the 2025 season, starting with a matchup against Rivier University on Saturday, October 4 at 2:30 p.m. USJ then welcomes Regis College on Tuesday, October 7 at 3:30 p.m., before rounding out a three-game homestand against Dean College on Wednesday, October 15 at 6:00 p.m.

The final four games of the 2025 regular season feature three on the road and one at home. USJ travels to Colby-Sawyer College on Saturday, October 18 at 3:30 p.m. in New London, N.H., then continues the road swing at Elms College on Tuesday, October 21 at 7:00 p.m. in Chicopee, Mass. The Blue Jays play their final home game of the regular season on Saturday, October 25, welcoming New England College for a 5:00 p.m. kickoff in West Hartford. The team wraps up the regular season on the road, taking on intrastate GNAC rival Albertus Magnus College in New Haven on Wednesday, October 29 at 7:00 p.m.

The top eight teams in the conference standings will advance to the 2025 GNAC Tournament, beginning with the quarterfinal round on Saturday, November 1. The top four seeds will serve as hosts in the quarterfinal round. Semifinals are scheduled for Tuesday, November 4 and will be hosted by the two highest remaining seeds, with the championship game to follow on Saturday, November 8, hosted by the highest remaining seed.

The Blue Jays are coming off a 2024 season that saw the team win its second GNAC Championship in program history, and second in three years. The Blue Jays, who finished the year with a record of 11-4-3 earned the number one overall seed in the playoffs and secured home field advantage throughout the postseason. The Blue Jays first defeated Regis College in the quarterfinals before taking down Emmanuel College in overtime to advance to the GNAC championship game. The men's soccer team would defeat Johnson & Wales in the championship, winning the GNAC title to advance to the NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Tournament. The Blue Jays were matched up with intrastate foes Wesleyan University in the first round, where the Cardinals put an end to USJ's 2024 campaign.
