Paltauf Named GNAC Men's Lacrosse Rookie Of The Week
WINTHROP, Mass. - Sophomore attackman Ryan Paltauf (Southbury, Conn.) of the University of Saint Joseph men's lacrosse team was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Week, it was announced on Monday evening by the conference front office in its second weekly report of the 2022 season. It marks the second career GNAC weekly honor for Paltauf and the first for the USJ men's lacrosse team this season.
Paltauf had a monster week for USJ and helped power the Blue Jays to a 1-1 record over a pair non-conference road games against two Little East Conference opponents. Overall, Paltauf accumulated 14 points for the week on five goals and nine assists. The Southbury product opened the week scoring a career-high five goals and added three assists for an eight-point outburst in the snow in a back-and-forth, 16-15, setback on Wednesday afternoon at intrastate foe Eastern Connecticut State University. He then turned around and followed that up with an impressive six-assist outing in a 14-9 triumph at Castleton on Friday.
Paltauf currently leads the Blue Jays so far through the opening two weeks of the 2022 season with a team-high 23 points on eight goals and 15 assists in just four contests. His 23 points and 15 assists are second-best in the GNAC behind only Norwich University's senior attackman Parker Campbell (Rockaway, N.J.), who leads the conference with 30 points and 16 helpers through five games.
