No. 25 Men's Basketball Tops Albright, 71-61, in FSC Tip-Off Tournament Opener

FARMINGDALE, N.Y. — The nationally ranked No. 25 University of Saint Joseph (USJ) men's basketball team earned a 71–61 victory over Albright College in the opening round of the FSC Tip-Off Tournament on Saturday afternoon inside the Walter A. Lynch Sports Center. With the win, the Blue Jays improve to 3–1 on the season and advance to Sunday's championship game, where they will face SUNY Cortland at 3 p.m. The loss drops the Lions to 1–2. The matchup marked the first-ever meeting between the two programs.

USJ was anchored by a balanced offensive attack and disruptive defensive pressure, forcing 15 turnovers that led to 20 points, while shooting an efficient 46.6% (27–58) from the floor and a perfect 12–12 at the free-throw line.

Senior forward Friedrich Feldrappe (Berlin, Germany) powered the Blue Jays with a highly efficient 16 points on 7-of-10 shooting, including a pair of threes, while also grabbing four rebounds and tallying two steals. Senior guard/forward Deivone Tanksley Jr. (Hartford, Conn.) added 13 points, five rebounds, two steals, and a block on 4-of-7 shooting. Sophomore guard Jakari Tertulien (Bridgeport, Conn.) chipped in 10 points and four assists in 21 minutes of floor time.

Junior guard Alijah Lovelace (Brooklyn, N.Y.) gave USJ a spark off the bench, posting four points, a rebound, and a steal in 12 quality minutes, while freshman center Babacar Gadiaga (Dakar, Senegal) delivered a solid interior presence with eight points, seven rebounds, and a steal. USJ's bench proved vital, outscoring Albright's reserves 23–14.

Albright was led by Qadir Mitchell, who scored a game-high 19 points on 5-of-11 shooting from the field and 4-of-6 from deep. Jeremiah Stanton and Phanique Dupree each added 14 points, with Dupree also blocking an impressive seven shots.
