Cisse Tabbed GNAC Men's Basketball Rookie of the Week
WINTHROP, Mass. - Freshman forward Adelphe Cisse (Pointe-Noire, Congo) of the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) men's basketball team was named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Rookie of the Week, it was announced by the conference front office Monday afternoon in its ninth weekly report of the 2024-25 season. It marked the second career weekly conference honor for Cisse and the fourth for the Blue Jays this season.
Cisse was stellar during a perfect 2-0 week for USJ, averaging 21.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 1.0 blocks per game. The freshman standout began the week with 15 points, eight rebounds and three assists during the team's road victory at Anna Maria this past Tuesday. Cisse then rounded out his week by having a career day, scoring a career-high 28 points, while hauling in six rebounds to lead the Blue Jays past Rivier at home this past Saturday.

The Blue Jays will head back on the road, taking on Emmanuel College inside the Jean Yawkey Center in Boston, Mass, on Tuesday, January 21. Tipoff against the Saints is set for 7:30 p.m.
