SEASON BY SEASON
2020-21: 'JC' saw a slight increase in points per game at over 15 in this abbreviated season. He tied his career high in rebounds with eight in a three-overtime thriller witih Babson on March 7. The Blue Jays finished with a 2-2 record.

2019-20: Martin wasted no time arriving to USJ, scoring 26 points on 10-of-12 shooting in just his second-career game. He took the GNAC (and the NCAA) by storm with his speed, passing ability and defensive prowess, leading the country in assists per game at 7.5. JC led the conference in assists and also steals at nearly three per game, often roaming off his defender to poke balls away from unaware opponents. The Blue Jays got the better of their in-state rivals in year two, defeating Albertus Magnus, 88-84 in front of their home crowd to win their first GNAC Championship in program history. Saint Joseph won 25 straight games (second longest in D3), was as high as 14th in the national rankings, and played in its first-ever NCAA Tournament game, falling 78-74 to Hobart. Martin won GNAC Defensive Player of the Year honors in addition to All-GNAC First Team selection.

At USJ: Martin's brother Chaylyn is also a member of the men's basketball team. Both transferred from D1 Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, Conn.

Before USJ: Martin played one year at Sacred Heart in Fairfield, Conn. He appeared in six games for the Pioneers. Prior to the Division I stop, Martin played for the Beavers of Weaver High School, in nearby Hartford, Conn. Weaver finished 18-2 three straight seasons with Martin in the lineup, including 2015, when they won the CIAC Class M State Championship in dominant fashion, 73-59, over Notre Dame-Fairfield. Martin and the Beavers were back in the state title game as a junior, but lost in a double-OT thriller to Hillhouse, 94-83. Martin lost in the state quarterfinals to East Hartford as a senior. He finished with a four-year varsity record of 66-14.
