Baseball Drops Regular‑Season Finale to Nichols on Sunday
DUDLEY, Mass. - The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) baseball team rounded out the 2026 regular season on Sunday, dropping a non-conference road contest to Nichols College. With the result, the Blue Jays finished the season at 25-15 while the Bison improved to 19-16.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Nichols jumped out to an early lead, plating five runs across the first two innings to take a 5-0 lead.
- The Bison stayed hot, adding two runs in the third and two more runs in the seventh to build a 10-0 advantage.
- USJ was unable to overcome the deficit, as Nichols secured the run-rule victory after seven innings.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Freshman catcher Nate Brewer (Tampa, Fla.) recorded his first career collegiate hit after lining a double down the left field line in the bottom of the second.
- Sophomore pitcher David Reischerl (Franklin, Conn.) fired two scoreless innings in relief while not allowing a hit or a run and striking out one.
UP NEXT
The Blue Jays will now gear up for the 2026 Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Baseball Tournament Championship, beginning on Thursday, April 30. The second-seeded Blue Jays will host the seventh-seeded Lasell University Lasers to open postseason play. First pitch between USJ and the Lasers is set for 3:00 p.m. at the USJ Baseball Field in West Hartford, Conn.
