Cahill Named GNAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week

WINTHROP, Mass. – Senior pitcher Brandon Cahill (Meriden, Conn.) of the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) baseball team has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Pitcher of the Week, as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon in its fourth weekly report of the 2026 season. The honor marks Cahill's second GNAC weekly award of the year, his second of his career and the third for the baseball team this season.

Cahill continued his strong senior campaign for USJ, improving to 4–0 on the season with another dominant performance on the mound in a 4–3 victory over Rivier on Saturday. The senior right‑hander went the distance for the third straight time, scattering five hits and allowing three runs—all unearned—while striking out 10, including the 100th strikeout of his career, over seven innings. He finished the day with a 0.00 ERA and a 12.86 K/9, anchoring the Blue Jays' staff in their GNAC opener.

This season, Cahill currently leads the GNAC in both wins (4) and strikeouts (35). 


UP NEXT 

The Blue Jays return to action on Tuesday, March 24, hosting Keene State College for a non‑conference matchup. First pitch between USJ and the Owls is scheduled for 3:00 p.m. at the USJ Baseball Field.
