Baseball Announces 2025 Slate

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. - The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) baseball team and third-year head coach Adam Goss have announced the schedule for the Blue Jays' 2025 season. Highlighting the 40-game regular-season slate is 17 home games, which are set to be played at the USJ Baseball Field on the campus of USJ. Also featuring on the 2025 slate is a return to Dunkin' Park in downtown Hartford as the Blue Jays will play one game at the home of the Hartford Yard Goats.

FULL 2025 BASEBALL SCHEDULE

The Blue Jays begin their second official season in program history with a four-game homestand, starting with the season opener against Gordon on Wednesday, February 26. The baseball team then welcomes Keene State on Friday, February 28 and Western New England on Tuesday, March 4, before rounding out the home stretch against Nichols on Wednesday, March 5.

Following the opening four games of the season, USJ heads down to Florida for the RussMatt Invitational from Sunday March 9, through Saturday, March 15. While in the Sunshine State, the Blue Jays will meet Ohio Northern, Vassar, Russell Sage, SUNY Cobleskill, Calvin, Washington & Jefferson and Hamilton on the diamond. After the trip down south, USJ returns to West Hartford, hosting crosstown foe Hartford on Tuesday, March 18. The Blue Jays then head to Fitchburg State in Fitchburg, Mass., on Thursday March 20 before traveling to local foes Trinity for a doubleheader on Saturday, March 22 in Hartford.

USJ begins a five-game homestand to round out the month of March, starting with the teams Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) opener against Rivier on Sunday, March 23. The Blue Jays then welcome New England College to the USJ Baseball Field for a single game on Tuesday, March 25. The team continues its home stretch with a non-conference matchup against Westfield State on Wednesday, March 26, before hosting Elms for a doubleheader on Saturday, March 29. The Blue Jays conclude the month on the road at Anna Maria on Sunday, March 30.

As the calendar flips over to April, the Blue Jays head back on the road for six of their first seven games, starting with a visit to Providence, R.I., to meet non-conference opponent Rhode Island College on Wednesday, April 2. The Blue Jays then return to Connecticut, making the trip to Danbury to face Western Connecticut on Thursday, April 3, before making the trek to Standish, Maine to battle Saint Joseph's College of Maine during a GNAC game on Sunday, April 6. USJ then returns to WeHa, hosting Johnson & Wales on Tuesday, April 8, before heading back on the road, starting with a single non-conference game at Nichols in Dudley, Mass., on Thursday, April 10. The Blue Jays round out the opening stretch of April with a road double-header at Mitchell in New London, Conn., on Saturday, April 12.

USJ returns to West Hartford for its next four games, starting with a Nutmeg State showdown against Wesleyan on Sunday, April 13. The Blue Jays then return to GNAC play, welcoming Norwich for a single game on Tuesday, April 15, before closing out the home stretch with a doubleheader against Lasell on Friday, April 18.

The final stretch of the season sees USJ play five of its remaining seven games on the road. The team starts the last portion of the schedule with a two-game road trip, beginning with a game at Dean in Franklin, Mass., on Saturday, April 19 followed by a non-conference game against Western New England in Springfield, Mass., on Tuesday, April 22. USJ then plays their final regular season home games in 2025, hosting Colby-Sawyer College on Wednesday April 23. The Blue Jays then head downtown, hosting Clark for a single game at Dunkin' Park - home of the Hartford Yard Goats - on Friday, April 25. The team rounds out the 2025 regular season on the road, first stopping in Hamden, Conn., to battle rivals Albertus Magnus during a doubleheader on Saturday, April 26, before concluding the year at Worcester State in Worcester, Mass., on Tuesday, April 29.

The top eight teams at the end of the regular season earn berths into the 2025 GNAC Baseball Championship Tournament. This year's tournament will see the eight teams split into two double-elimination pods. Pod play will take place from Friday, May 2 to Sunday, May 4 with the two pod champions advancing to the 2025 GNAC Baseball Championship Series. The best-of-three GNAC Championship Series is scheduled for Thursday-Friday, May 8-9. The winner of the GNAC Championship Series will be named the 2025 GNAC Baseball Champion and earn the league's automatic qualifier into the 2025 NCAA Division III Baseball Championship.

The Blue Jays' are coming off a postseason berth in its inaugural season, posting a 17-22-1 record overall, including an 8-8 mark in GNAC play to earn the sixth-seed in the GNAC Tournament. The Blue Jays would win their first-ever postseason contest against Lasell, before falling to Norwich and Johnson & Wales to conclude their campaign.

Admission to all USJ regular-season baseball games in 2025 is free of charge.
