Tanksley Jr., Yorke Named December HHC Athletes of the Month

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – The University of Saint Joseph (USJ) Department of Athletics has announced the Hartford HealthCare Athletes of the Month for December, the fourth full month of the 2025–26 season. These student-athletes excelled during a highly competitive slate of contests, standing out with their individual performances. The award is presented to one male and one female student-athlete across all sports at the conclusion of each calendar month on behalf of USJ Athletics and Hartford HealthCare.

Deivone Tanksley Jr. (Men's Basketball) - The senior forward from Hartford, Conn., led the men's basketball team in December, averaging 13.6 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 1.6 assists per game. Tanksley Jr. opened the month with an 11-point, 12-rebound double-double at home against No. 1 Trinity (12/3). He followed with a dominant performance in a win over Yeshiva (12/6), recording 18 points and 10 rebounds, before contributing 10 points and seven rebounds on the road at Bowdoin (12/14). Tanksley Jr. continued his strong December by scoring 17 points and pulling down a season-high 14 rebounds in a home victory over Coast Guard (12/18). He capped the month with 10 points and eight rebounds during a road contest against No. 10 Montclair State (12/31). The honor marks the first time in his career that Tanksley Jr. has been named a Hartford HealthCare Athlete of the Month.

Nevaeh Yorke (Women's Basketball) - Yorke, a sophomore guard from Norwich, Conn., paced the Blue Jays to a 1–2 record in December, averaging 9.3 points, 12.0 rebounds, and 5.6 assists per contest. She opened the month with an 11-point, 12-rebound double-double at home against John Jay (12/3). Yorke then posted seven points and collected a season-high 14 rebounds to lift the Blue Jays past Anna Maria (12/8). She rounded out her strong December by recording her second double-double in three games, scoring 10 points and grabbing 10 rebounds on the road at Baruch (12/30). The honor marks the first time in her career that Yorke has been named a Hartford HealthCare Athlete of the Month.
