WEST HARTFORD, Conn. – The University of Saint Joseph volleyball team hosted a GNAC tri-match Saturday and came up on the short end of two straight-set matches at the O'Connell Center.
Johnson & Wales defeated Saint Joseph in the opening match of the day 25-9, 25-10, 25-22. Ciara Perez (Manchester, Conn.) had six kills and 10 digs for USJ.
Saint Joseph lost to Norwich, 25-13, 25-18, 25-14 to close the day's action. Samantha Edwon (Beacon Falls, Conn.) had seven kills for the Blue Jays and Amanda Dondero (Mastic, N,Y.) and Rebecca DiPinto (Burlington, Conn.) had four apiece. Megan Williams (Lakeville, Conn.) had 15 assists and Perez had 10 digs. In between, Johnson & Wales defeated Norwich, 3-1.
Saint Joseph is 2-11 overall and 0-2 in the GNAC. Norwich finished the day 6-4 (2-2 GNAC) and Johnson & Wales is 5-10 and 2-0 in conference play.
Saint Joseph hosts Becker, Mon. Sept. 24 at 7 p.m.
