Tennis Team Blanks Albertus, 9-0

NEW HAVEN, Conn. – The University of Saint Joseph tennis team did not drop a set Monday in defeating Albertus Magnus 9-0 Monday in a GNAC match.

Saint Joseph improved to 2-9 overall and won its first league match of the season and is now 1-5 in the GNAC.

Lisa Wawrzynowski (Newington, Conn.), Amanda Willhoft (Manchester, Conn.) and April Loteczka (Ellington, Conn.) won at the first three singles spots and also were part of doubles wins. Wawrzynowski and Willhoft teamed to win at No. 1 doubles and Loteczka paired with Mallory Briggs (Seymour, Conn.) for a win at No. 3.

Lindsay Tracy (Manchester, Conn.) and Delina Andrews (Thomaston, Conn.) earned a win at No. 2 doubles, while Serena Sundara (Windsor, Conn.), Julie Ann Robinson (Hamden, Conn.) and Angela Zaffetti (Suffield, Conn.) all won in singles.

Saint Joseph plays at Western Conn., Wed. Oct. 10 at 4 p.m.
