BOSTON, Mass. -- University of Saint Joseph forward Mary Hyde (Derby, Conn.) had a triple-double with 12 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists, but the Blue Jays dropped a 72-66 GNAC game at Emerson Saturday.
Emerson improved to 9-11 overall and 5-4 in the GNAC. Saint Joseph is 11-7 overall and 4-4 in conference play.
Heather Framski (Prospect, Conn.) finished with 21 points and 11 rebounds and Claire Consonni (Bristol, Conn.) scored 12 for the Blue Jays.
USJ led 26-21 after a pair of free throws from Consonni with 4:47 to play in the first half but an 8-0 run from Emerson gave the Lions the lead for good. Emerson shot 50 percent (17-for-34) in the first half en route to a 37-31 lead at intermission.
St. Joseph dug out of a 13-point second half deficit and twice got within three -- at 61-58 on a three-pointer by Brianna Ferraro (Waterbury, Conn.) with 6:01 left and 63-30 on a jumper from Shauna Sullivan (Rocky Hill, Conn.) with 5:37 to play -- but could draw no closer.
