Basketball Tops Daniel Webster, 64-42
NASHUA, N.H. – Sophmore forward Heather Framski (Prospect, Conn.) scored a game-high 22 points as the University of Saint Joseph defeated Daniel Webster 64-42 Tuesday in a non-conference game at Daniel Webster.
Saint Joseph improved to 3-1 on the season while Daniel Webster fell to 0-4.
Mary Hyde (Derby, Conn.) and Brianna Ferraro (Waterbury, Conn.) scored 11 points apiece for Saint Joseph and Shauna Sullivan (Rocky Hill, Conn.) had a team-high seven rebounds.
Saint Joseph trailed only once at 6-5, but the first 17 minutes remained close. Daniel Webster's Vanessa Bosques (Windham, Conn.) made a layup to pull the Eagles into an 18-all tie with 2:58 to play in the first half. But Framski then took over, scoring the next eight points on three layups and two free throws and Devon Diliberto (Waterbury, Conn.) made a three-pointer as the Blue Jays finished the half on an 11-0 run to lead 29-18 at the break.
Framski and Hyde scored five points each for Saint Joseph early in the second half to extend the Blue Jays' lead to 39-22 with 16:43 left and the margin remained comfortable throughout.
Saint Joseph returns to action Sat. Dec. 1, hosting Connecticut College at 1 p.m.
