Cross Country Wraps Up Season at GNAC Meet

NASHUA, N.H. – The University of Saint Joseph cross-country team finished in 11th place of 13 teams Saturday in the Great Northeast Athletic Conference meet to close the season.

Kristin Burke (Randolph, Mass.) finished 93rd in a field of 143 and was the top Saint Joseph runner and finished the 5k course in 25 minutes, 43.8 seconds. Anne Pitoniak (West Haven, Conn.) was the next USJ runner to cross the line and was followed by Ashley Figueroa (New Britain, Conn.), Bridget Saur (South Windsor, Conn.) and Serena Cochran (Ledyard, Conn.), who all earned scoring spots.

Johnson & Wales won the team competition for the third consecutive year. Amber Dostie, of Saint Joseph's of Maine, was the individual winner in 19:19.2, dominating the field and finishing 45 seconds ahead of the next finisher.
