Runners Trek to Elms
CHICOPEE, Mass. -- The University of Saint Joseph cross-country team ran Saturday at the Elms Invitational.
Anne Pitoniak (West Haven, Conn.) was the first Blue Jay across the line in 71st place, ahead of 44 other runners in the field of 115. She covered 5 km in 27:17.
Amie Ouellette (Plymouth, Conn.), Bridget Saur (South Windsor, Conn.), Ashley Figueroa (New Britain, Conn.) and Serena Cochran (Ledyard, Conn.) all earned scoring spots for USJ.
Saint Joseph was 13th in the team competition, which was won by the University of New England. Babson sophomore Marina Capalbo was the individual winner in 19:53.
Saint Joseph hosts the annual Blue Jay Invitational, its one home meet of the season, Sat. Sept. 29 at 11 a.m.
