Runners Compete at Manhattanville

PURCHASE, N.Y. -- The University of Saint Joseph competed in the Valiant Invitational Saturday at Manhattanville College.

Saint Joseph junior Anne Pitoniak (West Haven, Conn.) was the first Blue Jay to cross the finish line, covering the 5 km course in 26:49 and was 35th of 57 runners. Kristin Burke (Randolph, Mass.), Ashley Figueroa (New Britain, Conn.), Bridget Saur (South Windsor, Conn.) and Serena Cochran (Ledyard, Conn.) also earned scoring spots for Saint Joseph.

The Blue Jays finished seventh in the team competition, which was won by Roberts Wesleyan. Katherine Henri, of Purchase, was the individual winner in 19:28. 

Saint Joseph is at Elms, Sat. Sept. 22 for an 11 a.m. meet.
