WESTON, Mass. - Six members of the University of Saint Joseph women's swimming & diving team were named to the 2017-18 New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Association (NEISDA) Spring All-Academic Team, it was announced via a release by the NEISDA on Tuesday afternoon. 180 student-athletes from 21 women's teams and 13 men's teams across the region were represented on this year's NEISDA Spring All-Academic Team.
In order for a swimmer or diver to make the NEISDA All-Academic Team the student-athlete needed to post a spring semester GPA of 3.50 or better. Junior Gabriella Alberino (East Haven, Conn.), senior Olivia Kajda (Katowice, Poland), senior Veronika Latawiec (Newington, Conn.), junior Annmarie Masayda (Watertown, Conn.), junior Elizabeth Sears (Bristol, Conn.) and freshman Amanda Thiel (Torrington, Conn.) earned the honor for the Blue Jays. Collectively, USJ boasted a team GPA of 3.41 for the spring semester and were led by Kajda and Latawiec who both posted a perfect 4.0.
