WILLIMANTIC, Conn. – University of Saint Joseph freshman Annmarie Masayda (Watertown, Conn.) was the Blue Jays lone winner, taking first place in the 100-yard breaststroke Monday as USJ competed at Eastern Connecticut in a dual meet Monday night.
Eastern won the team competition, 136-98.
Masayada won the 100 breaststroke in 1:16.96, earning the victory by .68 seconds. She was also second in the 100 freestyle, 100 butterfly and earned a team-leading 24.75 points on the night. Veronika Latawiec (Newington, Conn.) had second place finishes in the 100 backstroke and 200 individual medley and a third in the 200 backstroke. Jennifer Coppa (West Granby, Conn.), Gabriella Alberino (East Haven, Conn.), Rachel Mauthe (East Lyme, Conn.) and Raelynne Andrews (Bristol, Conn.) each earned a third-place finish.
Eastern's Mollee Lasto (Orange, Conn.), who was the individual winner at the USJ Blue Jay Pentathlon in October, won the 100 backstroke, 200 backstroke and 200 IM for the Warriors.
