Voislow Grabs GNAC Rookie of the Week Honors

WINTHROP, Mass. - Freshman Raelynn Voislow (Windsor Locks, Conn.) of the University of Saint Joseph women's basketball team was named the GNAC Women's Basketball Rookie of the Week, presented by Corvias, it was announced by the league's front office on Monday afternoon. Voislow averaged 16.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3 steals, while shooting 38.2% (13-34) from the field and 50.0% (3-6) from three across a pair of games in a 1-1 week for the Blue Jays.

On Tuesday in a 67-43 victory over Lesley at home, Voislow dropped 12 points and added eight rebounds and five steals in 28 minutes in a game USJ led wire-to-wire. She followed that up with a monster performance pouring in a career-high and game-high 20 points in a tightly contested setback to crosstown rival and NESCAC member Trinity College on Sunday afternoon. Voislow was efficient connecting on 47.4% (9-19) of her attempts, including both of her shots from beyond the arc. The rookie is currently second on the team in scoring averaging 14.2 ppg for the Blue Jays so far this season.

The USJ women's basketball team returns to the hardwood next on Wednesday when it travels to Mitchell College for a 6 p.m. tip-off with the Mariners before hosting Lasell at home on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. in the Blue Jays GNAC opener.
