WEST HARTFORD, Conn. — Freshman Jacob Wyse (Broad Brook, Conn.) of the University of Saint Joseph (USJ) men's swimming and diving team has been named the Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Men's Rookie of the Year, as the GNAC announced its Year-End Major Award Winners and All-Conference Teams this month.
Wyse becomes the first student-athlete in USJ history to earn GNAC Rookie of the Year honors in swimming and diving. He is also the second male student-athlete to earn the award after freshman point guard Delshawn Jackson Jr. (Hartford, Conn.) received the honor for men's basketball this season. USJ student-athletes continue to make a strong impact in its first year as a fully co-educational undergraduate institution.
