USJ Honors Staff, Athletes with Luncheon

WEST HARTFORD, Conn. -- The University of Saint Joseph Athletic Department honored its student-athletes and recognized faculty and staff Tuesday at a luncheon at the O'Connell Center. 

The event was well-attended by about 150 faculty and staff and Blue Jay student-athletes. It was part of the NCAA initiative, Division III Week, which was created to provide an opportunity to observe and celebrate the impact of athletics and student-athletes on the campus and surrounding community.

"We're pleased with our student-athletes who work hard both athletically as well as academically," USJ Athletic Director Bill Cardarelli said. "And we all appreciate the faculty and staff who support the athletic department throughout the year."
